Hi guys i've been a passive reader of MFK for years and i have decided to make a post today. I live in Indonesia where it is not hard to obtain the Indochina. here is a pic of my 70cm/28" Indochina.

A new small goonch is coming to my home in 3 hours and this are some pics that the seller sent to me. It was labelled as Bagarius India, i really appreciate any help in IDing this little fella. Really hope that it is a Yarelli.

hooliganATV hooliganATV Thanks for your reply. I really hope the baby goonch is a yarelli man.

As requested, here are some pictures of my 27" Indochina when i first got him, he was smaller in size and still kept in a glass tank instead of the fiberglass tank that i am currently keeping him at.S_3958766632597.jpg S_3958768922732.jpg S_3958771365524.jpg 11224174_1066898136656107_5427697160357314000_o.jpg

MHDevelopments MHDevelopments thanks a lot friend, glad u like him!

The 7.5"baby indian goonch is finally in!! He is my first indian goonch and from his look i believe he is a yarreli. Some photos of him when he just arrived, surprisingly he has a really long upper tail just like the piraibas which is around 3.5" in length:

If you can get better pics of the head it'll be easier to ID the little guy but it'll still be hard till it grows a little bit more and very nice sp. indochina! I love him! How long you had it?

Aw3s0m3 Aw3s0m3 happy that u like the indochina. it's been with me for over a year, he is not as active as the indian goonches. To add more info, the indochina is a wild caught fish that was around 12" when my LFS got him. I will try to get clearer pics of my baby goonch later when i get home from office. For the meantime, here is some more pictures of him that i took last night (I am not sure that these pics will be clear enough tho). 12804370_1134822209863699_2113177442_n.jpg 12804155_1134822356530351_2112422248_n.jpg

without hijacking what sort of things are you looking for in the head? I have read most of the thread on here and still finding it hard to pin point the differences between them.

Specifically towards the Indians, there's differences between the HLG and LLG. I dunno the actual anatomical names like Rob does in the write up but the main things I notice, I've had both species but currently only have HLG, is that the LLG isn't as dorsolaterally compressed as HLG and LLG has these lines on the sides of their face. I think Rib called them tubercles but I could be thinking of something else. I didn't exactly pass anatomy with flying colors haha
