It's hard to say what it could be without a photo. You might be not be able upload photos until you've had more messages ... I'm not sure.
What size are the spots? Do they look like grains of sand or salt? If so, that's Ick.

They are the size of a piece of rice. We do not think it is Ick. I think I have to post a few times before I can upload a picture or it may just be a link. I will take a pic in the morning and try to upload.
Hello; The pictures suggest a clue about what may be happening. The rocks have crisp edges. May be that the fish is dashing about the way fish do and hitting the rocks. This may cause a wound.
That said looks like the wounds are infected. My first guess (and keep in mind only a guess) is a fungal infection.

It does look like a bacterial infection to me. If the biofiltration is keeping ammonia and nitrite at 0 ppm and there's a good water change schedule, some treatment options (in tank) might be seachem sulfaplex, seachem kanaplex, or api furan 2. Dips/baths with salt and methylene blue work well but mb stains.
