My jacks had babies......NOW what!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Keep them with the parents untill they r about 1/2 inch then put them in a seperate tank . If the parents start eating then move them rt away use water from the exesting tank that they r in if possible.

sometimes they will accidently eat their fry but it's a learning process and after a few clutches they are usually great parents! :) I just let my fish be. I don't ever seperate the babies from the parents. When the fry become independent and grow a good bit I sell them to the pet store. I can't keep them all! lol and I get to make some extra cash :)

And the first time my jewels had babies I thought they were eating there fry but they were just moving them! Very cute seeing the daddy spit them back out :)

Update: Everyone is doing well babies are now 1/4 to 3/8 inches and are darting all over. Mom and Dad are going crazy trying to keep them together. All are looking great. Only problem is the other fish are and will try to eat them if they stray to far. Then get beat up if they get caught by Mom and Dad.
