Almost positive it's a male. He's pushing the 7-8" mark atm. I'd love to get another cichlid in there w/ him, but he seems to just kill things. Any suggestions? Also, what do you suggest for diet. Right now he's on hikari gold, another cichlid pellet, super worms, and flakes.

flakes is messy and he is too big for flakes..try algae pellets {break in half} for a little veggie matter added to his diet..other then that sounds like he is eating good.. you may want to give him some frozen silversides once in awhile..Ender;724722; said:Almost positive it's a male. cannot tell you what to put into the tank with him since i am going through the same thing.. i would say no one.. because it seems to me unless they grew up with it they will kill it..and they fight until death..unless you have a huge tank..that might work.... post picture of him when you can.. he is a monster like or not but an awesome one..
