Fishing in Wisconsin
I got up for work yesterday and found what I've been watching for for two weeks now, eggs! I'm pretty excited, this is the second spawn they have had since I got them in April.

I'll take some pictures when I get home from work. I learned a lot from the first spawn they had and there are some things that I will do differently on this batch. I've bred convicts before like many people, and I know that it's no miracle that I the jaguars I have breed, but its exciting for me and I am learning a lot. As I learn more from them I will move on the more challenging endeavors... but for now I'm happy with this pair and their consistency.

Thanks pics to come.

Ok, so a good thread just turned bad, I noticed today when I went to take pictures that half of the eggs are gone and the rest are covered with some white fuzz. I'm not sure if this is fungus, I don't know what's going on here. I did not have anything like this happen the first time. Could it be caused by water temperature? I don't think the water is as warm this time as it was last. Probably mid 70's.

Here's a not great picture of what's going on.

Eggs are going bad?

Yeah, they're almost all gone. And not hatched. They're fuzzy while and the mom is trying to pull the bad ones out, but that's most of them.

oh too bad.... what happened to the first batch... i was sorry you didn't have success this time... in the beginning this happens alot though.. they get better batches as time goes on.If they fungus it is usually because the male did not do a good job getting them fertilized.. and if some go bad it spreads quickly to the good eggs as well..

my JKs eggs went bad so many times that i thought that they might be sterile
but they did succeed later
and sometimes its a good thing when a few eggs go bad and have fungus on them, the fry get good food
