Now as you can see alot of them are going white now i assume white means infertile? If so is there any reason for this as i would love for some of them to hatch.

Thanks Darren.

the white eggs are not fertile. i see quite a few too. from the pics in order more and more are turning white, it is possible she layed eggs and they were not fertilized. pics of male? did you see them laying them? i have a friend with 2 females that lay and lay and lay.. hopefully you get some wigglers. first pics looked lke a nice size batch..........

Are you sure you have a male and a female in the tank? If so, then you'll probably see some fry in a few days. If they're not fertilized, then the rest will turn white soon and sadly...no babies. :(

Yeah i thought the white eggs are infertile which is a shame becasue as you said more and more of them are turning white, no i didnt see her lay them i saw some breeding behaviour ie she was cleaning the rocks etc but didnt see it happen probley happened in the night. Shes always guarding and faning them but he doesnt seem to be bothered just swims around the tank as normal lol.

Heres a couple of pictures of him that where took the other week:

I sort of understand the breeding situation but not fully if anyone could explain that also would be great i assume they mate shes lays the eggs and then he fertiles them?

Thanks Again Darren.

Im now confused can female fish lay eggs without even being with a Male?

Thanks Again Darren.

My brother-in-law and I have recently bred a Dovii(male) with a managuense(female) and the both the father and mother guarded the eggs/fry intensely. So you would probably know if the father in your tank is doing his part and fertilizing the eggs. Good luck in the future!

I had 2 female Oscars about 10 years ago that constantly laid.....

Nice looking male there though. Hopefully get some wrigglers, maybe not this time but give it time.
