Ok abit of help from you people experienced in arowanas..
I just startled my jar and he swam hardout into a piece of driftwood and
as far as I can tell knocked himself out for a good couple of minutes i thought he was dead actually! he floated to the bottom not moving at all but after 2 mins he started swimming again altho abit insteadily.
MY other question is since he had his crash i can see a white line around his right eye as if part of his eyeball is exposed! not much just a thin line... im quite worried about him any info would be appreciated :S
this happened about 5 minutes ago!
thanks
kurt.

medication take out the drift wood asap and any other.. things he could run himself into..
theirs.. this medication.. that works wonders.. i forgot what its called.. it fixes like.. holes
and such in the fishes.. but yeah remove decoratives this is why.. i have.. minimum.. gravel.. and a couple rocks.. and floating plants near the top for my fish tank lol sorry to hear what happen mate how he recovers asap best of luck

I think Pima-fix is anti fungal...........

Anyways..

Sounds to me like your Jar just contracted a case of the infamous "drop eye". Mine got it after it heaved itself into the air just missing the cieling by a few inches (tank was about 4 foot off the ground) the SECOND time.

In my honest opinion when Red Bull decides they need a maskot it should definetly be a Jardini.

If he's swimming and eating, he'll probably be OK. His eye may always be like that, though.
once mine jumped as I had my head over the tank and hit ME in the eye.
I guess it's a good thing I didn't have my mouth open.

i thought melafix is for anti fungal? only? LOL

Melafix claims to be antibacterial, and Pimafix claims to be antifungal, although I have never seen evidence of either. Melafix is a great way to treat injuries however.

any pix?

and idk but from the nature of this injury meds dont seem nessesary.

I wouldn't be too worried about the eye thing. Does it look as though his eye has popped out a little and is exposing a white line of "inner eye parts"? If it's what I'm thinking about, my jar does that quite often. Sometimes if mine gets too excited chasing a feeder or shrimp this will happen, but it's always turned out fine in the end.

Why not post a pic so that we can better answer your question?
