Hi Friends,

Have a look at my Jardini. I am having him frm the last 4months.
Presently feeding on 15 feeder fishes per week/ Hikari Pellets/ Frozen Shrimp/ Frozen BW.
i dont see much growth rate, as i have seen in a silver.
has grown about 1 inch in 3months, is that the normal rate.
I had got a Puffer Fish along with him last month, I thot puffers are fine, but he took his fins a bit, I have heard that these fins grow back, can i know, like how much time does it take to get a regrowth of the fins.

Please comment on my fish and any suggestions for him.
(I dont need a suggestion saying bigger tank, bigger tank - Leave that aside.)

Here are something that may help:
  • First, take the puffer fish out.
  • Secondly, the fins will heal but make sure you keep up with water changes so that the wound doesn't get infected - causing fin rot, etc.
  • Lastly but most importantly, stop feeding him FEEDER fishes. Worst idea ever as they can carry diseases and other problems.

Thanx Crazyness for the comment.
Yes, i had put the puffer into the big silvers tank, and i dint find him the next day. i doubt, the aro made him dinner.
i m carrying out water changes frequently.
he does not touch anything else except feeders, i donno y.

I agree, remove the puffer. The fin damage will grow back given some time and good clean water. Jardini are slow growers compared to silvers. Your silver should be growing about an inch/month.

Thanx Chris, for that.
how long will it take to completely heal, if good water changes are carried out.
yeah, ur rite.
Silver grows 1"/month.
but the pearl is like from 5inches to 7inches from feb to june
