I picked up my 7" Jardini on May 10th and finally after almost 3 weeks, he's eating like a champ! I alternate feeding him blood worms, freeze dried krill and Hikari floating sticks twice a day.

During the first 2 weeks, he would only nibble on the blood worms maybe eating 1 or 2 pieces. Earlier this week he started taking the krill and this morning he ate about 4 pieces of Hikari sticks. I'm pretty excited about it! :headbang2

I do have a quick question, I'm currently doing bi-weekly water changes, should I up it to weekly? When he eats the hikari sticks, he spits out a bit so there's little particles floating around. I do have 3 other fish in there eating it up and also 2 crawfish eating what dropped on the floor...

How big is your tank? What is your filtration?

100 Gallon tank, dimension is 4x2x2 running a Fluval 405.

Tank is temporary until the Jardini grows and will put him in a bigger tank.

what % per w/c? i used to do 50% bi-weekly until my jar reached 12", then once weekly at 50%.

I currently do about a 30% water change bi-weekly. I don't run carbon so the rest of the chambers in the 405 I have extra fluval biomax media except in one chamber I put a pack of purigen and change it when ever it gets super dark.

So if I continue bi-weekly, I should do 50% then wait till the Jar gets 12" then do weekly? I also do weekly water tests.

that's what i did. i've had my jar for about 18 months, but i'm no expert. i don't use carbon nor biomax nor purigen.

congrats, getting new fish to eat is always a good feeling.

Im glad he's finally eating, id be worried sick if my Aro didn't eat for 3 weeks
