Hi MFK,

My Jardini jump at night time. and he even injured itself. he lost lot of scale. i was so worried if this could make a big trouble.

Right now I had Tiger Datnoit and Discus fish as tankmates with him. I feed him regularly and I even put Black Water and the water condition seem to be ok.

Please help.

Thx,
Robin

Losing scales from jumping wouldn't hurt them at all. Now scrapes and cuts where several scales were left missing is a different story.

My silver loses scales from trying to jump every other day. I keep him with a pleco and a discus. Just keep your water within parameters and they usually will heal up in no time.

Thank Skene, the thing is that it's seem to me that i saw some gap in his scale, that's why i was afraid that those loses scales won't grow back.

The scales will grow back. Try to add some stress coat or water conditioner to help replenish the slime coat and prevent infection from the missing scales.

was the damage from it hitting the lid or hitting the floor? my aros get jumpy from time to time and always grow back their missing scales.

Keep the water temp around 30 deg C ans add salt.

That should solve most of the problems.

scales will grow back if you feed them regulary
