I had to move my jag from the community tank cause the new dovii kept beting on him, and he looks way too good for that..haha So i moved him tomy 55-gallon and bought him a playmate. Check out his reaction as soon as she was put in the tank.

:iagree: awesome male...and yeah, adding her sure sparked his interest didn't it? lol

Thanks guys!! I'll definitely keep you posted on what they are doing. I may need to get a divider until she's ready. The male is way too anxious. He wants to spawn like yesterday. This morning I found the female hiding behind the flat rock that's in there and with a little wear and tear from overnight assaults. She came out to eat though, so that's a good thing. I purposely chose a female that was a little larger than the male because in my experience male jags are often too aggressive towards females, and when the male is bigger(and crazy) she doesn't stand much of a chance, unlike with dovii, where the male can be big enough to eat the female and they'll get along great.. haha

thats a very nice jag keep it up
Thanks!! I've been lucky to raise a few nice male jags over my years of fish keeping. I had a similar one jump out of the tank on me about 20 years ago. I never ever keep my jags in a tank without a good cover on it now. :)

hi i had a jag about the same size. how can u tell if its a male or remale? mine look kinda like the one that dont have the spots.

He was happy.
