well i had 2 juvy bass (not sure of id) a juvy oscar, juvy jag and juvy bristlenose in a 3ft tank think its bout 40-50gallons, anyway so everythings going well then the jag decides to turn on the bass n oscar so i move him seperate for a while.

In the meantime feeding them all frozen blood worms all goes well for probly almost 6 weeks with the ocassionall small feeders... but in this time the oscar groes quicker then the bass, i sorta go worried but oscar never showed any aggresion at all against the bass........

But... one day i come home to feed my fish and notice no bass... and a fat bellied oscar! was very peed off but nothing could be done about it

So neways a few more weeks past i decide to put the jag back in with oscar and also got my self a new bass (yet to take a foto) this time the bass is approx 4-5inches, oscar and jag are bout 4 inches tops so shall see how turns out and will probly pick up another 4-5inch bass this weekend. There seems to be no aggression between bass and the others so am hoping for the best will let them grow till they start showing aggression then might relocate the oscar and jag and just leave bass there for now

Sorry man, very hard lesson learned. Good thing is you get to get a couple of larger ones! But it does suck loosing babies.

yeah i will probly end up with 2x 5" Bass, 1 x 4-5" oscar and 1 x 4-5" Jag with a bristlenose for cleanup, once they grow to about 7-8" will relocate all my stock and tanks and hopefully have a new 110gallon which i will start another thread about

sorry to hear. IMO, bass are best by themselves (selected tankmates) until they are 6-8"
