So today, me and my family flew in from LAX to Lihue Airport in Kauai, Hawaii and are staying at the Marriot hotel for 7 days and then some other hotel on the south side of the island for 3 days. The hotel is unbelievably beautiful. The first thing I saw at the hotel made me fall in love, a huge pond with SO many fish. Hundreds of koi, swans, ducks, thousands of platies and billions of platy fry and tadpoles. (Might just snag a few and ship some back home to grow out
). I went snorkeling too, since the hotel is right on a cove, and though there are very few fish, I did spot a nice school of minnows and a nice school of some sort of carp-looking silver fish (I know nothing about SW fish) but leading into the cove is a river and when I was looking over the bridge I saw hundreds of fish of different sizes. There was one I saw that looked something like an african butterfly fish/banjo catfish, but couldn't get too good of a look because we had to leave. I'll be posting pictures (mostly relavent to fish) of my trip here for you guys to look at and in case I need an ID of some fish.
