Are you worried about parasites from feeding your fish wild fish?

Since I fish all the time I have PLENTY of food for my fish but I have always been too afraid to feed them!

I'd be more concerned about goldfish parasites.

As for wild fish, if a fish is sick 1)it probably won't bite, and 2)usually you can see if a fish is in good health or not. It would not concern me. I've used plenty of "native food" (Silversides, killifish, etc) with no ill side effects.

Heck, I am one of the few who hasn't had any issues with store bought feeder fish.

i think it would be like making sushi from fresh fish.........best to freeze overnight to kill the bad guys .... ??

I do that...haha. Just makes yaz feel better about it....;). Internal parasites are a bugga, and can really cause problems if your not careful. Better safe than sorry. If you are really really cautious, you could nuke them for about 50 seconds...that should be long enough to kill anything and not cook the fish! haha

cute kid, that looks like a good day fishing in my book. also like to see some vid. of your monsters eating those cuts of fish.

I feed my fish self-caught fathead minnows, and i have NEVER had a problem, if a fish is sick in the wild it dies most of the time....so you can pretty much be sure that wild caught feeders are much healthier then store-bought rosy reds.......although i've never had a problem with rosy reds either, i never even quarantined mine most of the time.

nice fish....kinda reminds me of resident evil where those lazer things cut that guy into cubes......lol
