Hi folks,

Here's my story: last night I fed all my fish including my knife. This morning I woke up and found him lying under the ship he usually hides in. I moved the ship and he was lathargic acting and I noticed one of his eyes was bulging. Upon further look, I noticed what looks like a little laceration type cut behind his eye like it would be on his cheek. I moved him to a 10 gallon isolation tank I have set up to medicate and watch him. Any thoughts on treatment??? After I moved him in there I raised the water temp about 2 degrees or so, added some aquarium salt and dosed with quick cure. Now that I have had time to think and look at him further (I had to leave for work this morning) I am thinking about treating with maracynII. He is a clown knife about 5-6 inches long. Any thoughts on what I am planning to do? Helppppppppp:eek: :nilly:

Bump up the temp. to 84-86 and add aquarium salt. Treat it with some Melafix as well.

also, how often should I add aquarium salt? I added some today.

Just once! teaspoon per 5 us gallons or less.... 50 percent water change will help.

My knife is in a 10 gallon by himself while i try to fix him up. I did a 20% water change, bumped up the temp to hopefully about 84, and did a second dose of maracynII today. His popeye looks a little better but still not eating.

They can go for a good while without eating. Just keep the treatment up and it's appetite should return soon.

today is last day for the MaracynII cycle. should i do another round or use melafix now or quickcure???? What are your thoughts?
