The first fella is a Starry Sturgeon, A. Stellatus and as said 2nd is the Albino Sterlet.

The starry sturgeon was a new adition today, i had seen them on the net recently and turned up on the suppliers list at work so couldn't resist!

and the albino i bought at 18" last August.

whats the difference? they different common names of the same fish or are they slightly different. they look similar to me, but then i'm new to sturgeons. i'll be getting a couple in the summer though hopefully. (the apparent diamond back ones)

totally different species. starry's will gorw to about 3ft usually in ponds but diamond backs reach an impressive 6ft in ponds although 10ft is quite common in the wild. Also diamond backs need much higher oxygen levels.
