My Kribinsis that I have had for only 6 days are laying eggs in the 20 gallon long I have set up for them.

Guess I must be doing something right.

As do I. One of my favorites. Thats why I'm happy to see them laying eggs.

My Geo. Brasiliensis have laid 3 times..........

The first two were eaten up really quick.............

The third is now just swimming........maybe 30 of them...........

Should i separate them or not

Couldn't tell ya. I'm not familiar with that species at all.

Well. My kribs have eaten most of her eggs. I talked a few people and they said it is fairly common for the first laying but they normally take care of the rest.

Anyone heard of this?

Well done buddy,as long as they are in their own tank you should be fine but dont let them loose in a big tank, i had a pair start having babies in my 4.5 x 2 x2 discus setup and i was well happy until they kept doing it and doing it and doing it,they took over the tank and would attack anything within eyesight, completely scared my discus and most of the other fish into one end of the tank and because they are so quick, even the babies after a while i had to basically take everything out my tank and catch them all and had to give them away, because this is very common,so now ive got one female and the male is living with the mother in law in her tank,
Its a shame because they are really pretty fish, but good luck with yours

cheers steve

yes most eggs layers will eat their eggs or wigglers their first time, it takes a bit a practice...good thing this isnt so with humans :nilly:

I dunno. I've met some first born that would have been more productive as lunch.

I thought so was just curious.

I have 2 pairs of Kribs. One that just breed and another that hopefully will. Each pair are in their only 20 long with a few Zebra Danios to chase around and a 2 small corys to keep the bottom clean and stirred up a bit.
