My Largemouth Bass Update

Here are my before and after shots of my bass tank the bass is currently in a 20h and is about 4 inches long(I am aware of the tank needs and will be putting him in a 75 gallon next month and have plans for a 325 gallon plywood in the future).

Before 2 incandescent lights, white gravel, and a whisper ex20 filter.



After incandescent lights replaced with daylight cfl's, gravel replaced with Black Diamond sand, added a Tetra 20-40, and a pothos plant.

Good look LMB. How long have you had him?

Since October he was under an inch when I got him.
They are very hardy fish he lived a week in an unfiltered 10 gallon tank with daily 50% water changes.

how did you get him?

From my pond I got him removing some weeds patches from it and there were a bunch of bream and bass caught in it.

They're fun fish to watch when little, but they seem to fade out and become a pain in the 6-12in range when they wont take anything but live and never seem to be satisfied. Just my experience. But i like your guy and I hope he grows big and healthy, good luck. i would say stick with the dark gravel, add a black background and some plants, this will make them retain their colors as long as possible and the plants help bring out their green.

Yeah his colors are looking better now he is a nice olive green instead of see through.
