well, I should have left it alone. My xmas led's were fine, just a little cluttered under the hood. I never was able to find anyone who could bypass the flash box.
So, I was in walmart and I saw these led rope lights in blue and white, and they were pretty cheap. I bought up 6 white and 4 blue.
They are 110 and you can simpley link them together end to end, so the perfect solution. I have a cable stapler, so i ripped out the old mess and stapled in 2 blues and 4 whites.
Results??/
initially it was great, clean under the hood easy install, waterproof, long cords, looked great. I really thought i had hit the mark. my hood is cleaner, I eliminated some wiring man it was greatr.
Well about 2 months of running the whites 8 hours a day, and they have dimmed a lot. I just added another string of white. I still have room for one more as it is, maybe 2 or 3 more if I remove them all and make the coils tighter.
we will see how long they last, i can live with the dim if it does not get worse, just will take more lights.
just wanted to give the info to anyone else was looking to try them.
BTW they are about 15 $ for a 6 ft string.
