my lfs has hydro gars?

i went to my lfs today and i saw these white platium gars about 5-6inch they where labeld as hydro gars has any1 hard of this they were like 15bucks

No such thing as a hydro gar

Hydro gar is another name for a hujeta gar. Which is not a true gar, it is a characin.

Yeah Ive seen them labeled as Hydro gars, Hujeta gars, and Rocket gars

I used to think they were one of the coolest fishes until I grew up and saw what was out there in the world of fishes. I still kind of like them in a certain way.

they are cool fish, most need strict feeder guppy diet, but I trained mine to eat silversides... it was really fun to watch him stalk the guppies. Quite a delicate fish. if you have a tank for small predatory fish, these will do well.

relativly small compared to real gar, i think they max out roughly around a foot
