Hey guys and gals, I know this is not strictly cichla related but!!! It kind of is because I would like to take pictures of my bass. So I am finally coming out of the stone age aka film photography and got a dslr... Since I always used film slrs and never bothered to buy a flash because I don't really care for flash photography, I'm really unfamiliar with indoor stuff/lighting let alone with a dslr. Anyways just wondering what methods you guys use.. I've looked through some of the photo threads but just seeing how everyone else does it. Do I need to buy a flash and a slave flash? Anybody wanna share some examples? What aperture/shutter speeds do you use? Tripod?
In other news I'm going to Florida in a month and am extremely hopeful about catching some of our cichla friends among other fish while I'm down there!
Also realized that the bass freak out when you flick cat toys by the tank. Anybody else have this experience with stuff going on outside the tank? It's really silly I feel bad cause they get all worked up about it and try to chase it. Also put a crank bait in the tank a couple weeks ago (without a hook of course) and they didn't seem as interested. Here's some crappy phone pictures!
