Wow after looking through this forum my little guys are really common compared to some of the speciality froggies on this site but hey ho they are cute.....

Due to a thermostat malfunction a few weeks ago which basically cooked my little ACF's I had to go out and get 2 new guys to keep my girls happy, hope you like the pics...

Cool little guys. What kind of catfish is that?

Beautifull frog and cat:D But is important that you put them apart as soon as you can. Reason? Pictus cats are notorious for eating smaller tank mates (your frog is in your cat range) and and the fact that pictus like higher temps than this frogs;)

I've housed these Pictus with ACF's for 3 years and never had a problem...... The only thing these Pictus are interested in is Food I give them a good diet also ACF's can be aggressive and easily handle these guys....

I've mixed Catfish with ACF's for over 8 years now and not lost one....(Frog attacked by a fish I mean).. My tank temp is 26 - 27 degrees as always and all my guys seem highly comfortable with no issues...

I do know that ACF's should not be kept with smaller fish however as when they get larger they can themselves become agressive and go for anything that will fit into their mouths... I myself have never experience this though to be honest... My frog at work lives in a cold water tank and is around 5 inches but he has never attacked our fish either....

Ok then but be really wachfull for distress signs. One of the greatest lfs we had here(unfornatly closed many years ago:() had a tank full of pictus and men they were predatory:eek: Any small fish and even some ,more on the largist side, that was putted with them, somehow would always endup in the cats belly;)

Cheers thanx for the heads up...... If I do spot a problem I will act I have various tanks around the house which could home these guys.....

They have a babysitter however who chases anything which comes close to them as you can see by the piccie..... LOL

Nice photos and cute frogs, I've kept these frogs for around a decade myself and are cute little critters.

You either need a water level low enough for the frog to stand on back legs and poke its nose out of the water, or you need something secure near the top of the water they can stand on to poke their nose out to breathe, just a heads up, it will make their life abit more comfortable in captivity ;)
