Hwody.

As you have learned in another post of mine, last sunday I bought me 3 new little caribe about 2.5" and put them in their new provisional home.

They cannot shoal with my reds because if so they would become the most expensive fullmouth that my reds had tasted so far....:D My reds average 7" .....

My plan is to wait 'till they have an adequate size to move along with the reds, maybe in 6 months, in the meantime they'll be kept in the 3'x12"x16" tank you'll see in the picts. little thats true but I think it'll do for 6 months without any probl...

This is my boy holding a bag with a cariba in it...

I am really happy with my new fish, they are very active and feed pretty well, today they ate their dinner of chicken breast and the previous days they ate caryfish and squid fillet, everything is going on very well.:headbang2

What do you guys think?

Cheers.

mice caribe looks like they was all little nibblers before becoming y0urs

congrats on the new caribes, those fins will heal up in no time.
I was about the say something about your boy's finger nail but then saw your comment below the picture, lol.
I saw a crayfish in the tank with them, was that their first meal? :)
I have mine in a bare tank right now, don't think they like the nakedness of the tank. it's been almost a week but they are still not behaving as when they were in my graveled tank. I'm thinking maybe I should add a thin layer of black sand.

Thanks for you replies guys.

Yes they had some fins nipped, that was because they were in a stocking tank full of them so they attacked each other. Anyway as JP says they'll heal in a blik of an eye....:D

The cary fish were their firs meal, there were 6 of them and within 2 days they disapeared...

This caryfish are callen "acociles" and are a native caryfish to the central Mexico.

Cheers.

maybe I should try some crayfish with mine. I've only seen my jardini eating 4-5" crayfish never a piranha.
