These guys have been paired up for a while but now they have their own 29 gallon back. After moving tanks several times, they seem to be bonded well still. Just a quick vid showing them off. They are temporarily housed with a small male fenestratus who is acclimating in their tank. I thought the cents would leave the big guy alone but they had their runs at him. Tank is a little cruddy looking because I haven't put much effort into having it look nice but it will in time.

I wouldn't call that a small fene lol. Why are you letting them attack him? He looks like he needs a divider and lights off to settle in, I'd bet he doesn't make it if you don't separate him from the stress.

Very nice pair:) I would rather have a pair of these than convicts.

Thanks they are very fun fish. Just as much personality of convicts with less aggression and more color.

I guess he's small relative to his adult size lol. It was the only tank I had running at the moment besides the 125 where my male cuban was wreaking havoc on everybody. I knew he wouldn't do well there. So this was the only option. He was only like this for about 15min then he was back to swimming normally. The cents pretty much left him alone after he got back on his feet althogh they would still make runs at him. Because the cuban male was being so nasty I made the decision to move the fens to the 125 along with the centrarchus pair. The fens tend to leave the little cents alone and actually get along fairly well. The cubans have been moved to the 29 where there are hides for the female to take cover if she needs too.

The fene looks pretty big to me, have you measured him? Did you just get him? Looks stressed but nice.

Yep just got him. Got him from cichlid connection but it was ground shipping(at my own risk). I am so used to getting fish shipped ground from rapps I thought he would be ok. He arrived floating upsidown in the bag. Lucky for me he pulled through. I learned my lesson though. He is doing better and getting along surprisingly well with my female fen. They seemed to have hit it off. He is still stressed but he is coming along. He is only like 6" so no THAT big. Cents can't be more than 2-3".
They all look nice :)

Thanks. Is that a midas in your avatar? Good lord he is a beast!
I agree! Those centrachus are awesome. I'm still bummed about your Cuban male snapping like that. :(

Yea and things haven't gotten much better :(. He is still very nasty towards my female(in fact he is nasty towards anything with a pulse). The fenestratus was meant to dominate the male to keep the aggression down and unite the pair but that didn't work. The smaller male was soon dominant over my 6" female fen. I am hoping the pair will do better in the 29 where the female can hide from the male. I am not quite ready to give up on them BUT I am thinking of letting them go. Depends on how well the fenestratus get along.
