Hi guys, this is my channa bleheri (around 10cm), they come in last week :grinno:, I have 4 bleheri in my tank.
But I have some question, they always stay at bottom of tank, is it normal? is they isn't an active snakehead?
my friend have this shakehead too, but his snakehead is a good fish, his fish come to him to ask some food when he come to tank. a great fish

this is some pic of my snakehead

They will come out with more time; they are still new. Also if you add more hiding spots, they will be more comfortable and confident, and come out more often. It looks like you have a bit too much open space.
Nice looking fish though. Good luck.

Nice babies!:headbang2
Agreed with Bottles: More places to hide... Some plants (floating and / or leaves that reach the surface) make much difference in behavior.
Are accepting industrialized diet? My used to loved to eat maggots and earthworms... But spat the ration.
I miss her:(.
Congrats,

Agreed, tanks just to open and bare.

My bleheri are very active, always at the glass swimming around like they are mad begging for foodm load the tank with plants, and hides, rooted and floaters and the activity will increase drastically.

Side note..I noticed your profile says Indonesia , What are the temperatures in the tank like ?? Bleheri require cooler temperatures to survive long term. Depending where your from u may have difficulty keeping them without a chiller.

yes I from indonesia, a temperature in my tank is around 22"-28"C. is it can keep them for long term survive? :(

28c is too warm, they will survive it for a short time but not for long term.

If u can keep it down at 22C they should be ok, if if u can go colder down to 20 ish i would.

also nice pic! those plants will help.

Another tip is make sure to have a very good cover on the tank.

Typically as they grow either a single dominate fish, or a pair if your lucky will turn on the rest of them and those being picked on become amazing escape artists. I've seen snakheads not only jump , but literally climb out of a tank like a snake or eel would so make sure you have a very secure lid and no holes big enough for them to get through.

Unfortunately, no more... The same problem of temperature over which the DC (Devon) warns you... To keep it I would need to buy a chiller. So I set out for other fishes... The Polypteridae family mostly... But I miss the bleheri.
