My little Dovii.. say hi..

It's a little under 3" still but I think it's color is pretty nice. I know it's too young to sex but I hear that if the bar going down it's side is broken up then it's usually a male. Do you think this one could be a male? Anyway here are the pics of my little guy. I feed it krill, raw shrimp pieces, hikari cichlid gold and the occasional rosie.

looks to be a male...if its speckles in the face get more apparent then its a male...

Cool, I bought the most aggressive one at the LFS thinking it would turn out to be a male so I'm hoping it is. I've had it for around a month now and it's still really shy except during feeding time. Is this normal? The tank has only two decorations and it ends up hiding behind the heater as shown in the pic. Should I add plants to the tank to make it feel more secure? The two decorations I have are a skull and one of those big fake root stumps from petsmart. He hides in the roots when eating but normally it's hovering up around the heater, temps are at 74-75 do I need to kick it up a notch for him?
