I got her from Vamptrev a few weeks back (thanks man!), and she's been doing great since I moved her into my community tank. I don't like how the sand sticks to her, but she's happy and eating like a pig, so I won't worry about it for now. She's chomping down 3 nightcrawlers at a time, twice a day now :D. One of the pics shows off her booty right after a feeding.

Ah, no. That's a dragon goby. But he is pushing 17" now... biggest dragon goby I've ever seen! Or even heard of...

Oh, and thanks. She is a little looker. I just wish the damn sand didn't stick so bad so I could actually see her spotting now and then...

Yea...and you have tons of sand in there so it would definitely be hell trying to swap it out. If I were you and you're even remotely thinking of changing the substrate, I'd just start removing a little sand at a time (like whenever you think about it) because its definitely not hurting the ray but I can tell its irritating the heck out of you;) Its better to do it that way then to get fed up, try to swap it all out at once, and gravely effect the water chemistry in your tank. I had sand like that with my first ray...Needless to say that sand is no longer in any of my tanks.

BTW
That goby is NUTZ!!!! 17inches!? Unheard of!

I love the sand, I just don't like it stuck on the ray :). She shouldn't be in this tank for more than a couple months, I hope, and then she should be back in the predator tank. That tank has Tahitian Moon Black Sand, which didn't stick to her at all. The pike in that tank was a little too aggressive for a little ray though. I'm gonna let her put on an inch or so before I put her back in that tank.

And I can't believe my goby either. Except for a handful of danio's that I used to cycle my first tank, that goby was the first fish I got. He's now about 2 years old.

Here are some more pics of the goby, other tankmates, and the tank in general. It's a 125g (72x18x22, with dual overflows and a 55g sump).

Oh I see. I guess I missed the fact that it was a temporary move.

VERY NICE!!! You've been holding out on us!;)

Yes I have. I wanted to wait until she was settled in, eating well, and putting on weight before I started showing her off. She's an awesome little ray, and she's learned to take worms from a pair of tongs as well. As soon as she see's the tongs, she attacks the tips, grabbing the worms out before I can even let them go sometimes. She's a very good eater...
