Ha! I'm a proud papa right now. It took a week of starvation and some teacher fish, but that's it! My H. tanzaniae has started taking pellets! :nilly::headbang2

I added some little tinfoil barbs to his tank as dithers and teachers. It worked marvelously, and shockingly fast. What I would do is take a Jumbo Carnistick and break it up into four or five pieces so that its small enough for the babies to eat and toss it in. The first day they barbs were in there, the TATF was showing interest in their feeding behavior. The second day they were there, he would swim up to pieces that were under the surface to investigate them. Today, the third day, he's taken to stealing Carnistick pieces that the barbs fetch from the surface. I'd imagine its only a matter of time now before he figures out how to go up there and get them on his own!

I'll update with some pics and maybe, just maybe, a feeding video tonight. I just had to share! lol

LOL I just tried this myself today. Mine is 100% interested, he even swims to the top when I open the lid to feed the other fish. I just can't get him to take the last step and actually eat the damn pellets. I'll just keep trying, if yours will take them then I know mine will eventually. Awesome job!

You're is just a matter of time and hunger.

Chixclub, thats cause for celebration. I usually soak the sticks for a few minutes before I feed. That way they're softer and not so unappetizing.

Good news chicx! Definatly post a feeding video.

He swam up to the top tonight to look at the pellets, but didn't have the nerve to grab one. We're getting there...
