Just got an updated pic of the last remaining bass from my original batch of ocels. They had to be split up because they became too agressive with each other then new tank mates got the better of 2 of them. It sounds like this guy might be going to another tank with some other big bass. I’d say he’s 12-14” now

These guys are turning out really nice. I had almost no expectation on them but I super happy with how they look. The pictures hardly capture them.

The two big ones were having a battle royale today. And from what I am seeing, the big one is no longer the boss. The second biggest has now established himself as alpha. A victory Mohawk in the last photo. I suspect there might be 2 males and 2 females here

THE FIFTH BASS!

So this little flagtail has become a member of the chichla pack. As most of us know it is good to keep bass in the magic number of 5 to spread out the aggression and whatnot. It seems as if I now finally have 5. flagtail seem to mimic other fish, and this one is now currently a bass through and through. It chases the other bass around as if it is one of the pack, it sits right in formation with them when they all align in one direction. It even attacks the surface when I put food in there for them. The tinfoil barb has to flee when it flares its gills and chases it. The bass are doing really well and have grown amazingly well now that the rays are in the tank. They eat 10x more because I have to smash the whole tank with food just to get a measly morsel to the elasmobranchs.

I have found them a new home and they will be housed with my old one that is left in a 700 g tank that a buddy has. Him and his wife hand feed their fish and even taught him to take shrimp and tilapia nicely from her hand below the surface. I will be sad to see these ones go, but happy they get to live with my friend. He’s a true mfkr if I Do say so myself lol.

Ha ha, that's funny Matt, and so true about Flagtails. Mine used to think he was an Asian Arowana, then he tried to be a Bala Shark while I had several of them in the tank for about a month some time ago. Since then he wants to be a Datnoid but my NTT isn't really the social type lol.

Good luck to your Pbass in their soon to be new (and big) home, I'm sure they'll be digging that. You're old Pbass already there is going to be surprised to see his old gang again :)

So says to my wife. “I’ve got the feeva “. She says “huh?” I says, “I’ve got the bass FEEEEVA!!”

she replied with, “the only way to cure it is with cowbell”. I love that she got the snl reference but she is wrong. The only way to cure it is with more bass.

so after much negotiations we have come to a peace treaty, and I have something special coming on Monday from a trusted supplier. From trombetas... stay tuned.

So I grabbed a couple pics tonight. They are officially pellet trained eating straight dry pellets

so I will need to start a whole new thread for these guys, as they are not terds at all. Best bass I’ve ever had.

it will be a bit before I can get some good photos, I have some crappy lighting, and no back ground yet.
