First off thank you very much.My lungfish is not doing very well.its been about 6 months since she has eaten.i know they do fast from time to time but im getting worried.also just recently when she goes up for air i noticed that the inside of her mouth looks infected.its red and puffy.(not normal looking)i see the difference cuz she would always come up to the top for wafers in the past and ive seen what her mouth looked like.ive started to do more water changes along with adding more salt but its getting worse.she eats feeder fish and i put a few fish in the tank recently.she sucked em down, killed them and spit they out.it may be cuz her mouth hurts and she cant chem em up and swallow.

PLEASE any help or info would be grately appriciated.im out of ideas and i really love my fish. Thank you,Butch:help2:

When they don't feel well they tend to spit out their food.
I usually put them on 3% salt and bump the temp.
This usually works. (not always) sometimes it is just patience. keep refreshing, keep the tank clean and leave it allone as much as possible.
When it is ready to eat I think it will come up for waffers at it used to do.

recently, i have the same problem of my lungfish stopped eating ... tested the pH to low, at ard 5.5. so did a major water change and put in more coral chips to buffer the pH. now maintaining the pH at ard 7-7.5 ...

my lungfish is much happier and started eating more than usual ...

do check ur water parameters ...

keep us updated of its condition ...

When I had problems with my lung, I gave him 20 min baths in Melafix and Pimafix in a 5 gal bucket with an air stone once a day for 5 days and he turned right around.
I have done this twice with my Aussie Lung on 2 separate occasions and it worked beautifully.
Hope all is well.
