The weight is about 3 kgs, lenght about 50-50 cm? So many mahseer species that make me difficult to id. But my guess is tor tambra

find it easily in US? u gotta be kidding me xD its like impossible to find ones at that size xD i manage to find small ones , wasnt easy though... but big ones like that , oh gawd xD slim slim chance

Upsss......I meant the small one :D. As far as I know no one breed the mahseer yet, at least in my country. most of big mahseer is wild caught and as you know big wild caught fish tends to die easily when being transported for long hours, even if they survive the price is like sky rocket.

I was lucky enough that a hobbiest sold all of his collection. There were hundreds fishes sold, the biggest was weight 7 kgs, I bought about 15 pcs but some died during transportation leaving me to 10 pcs of mahseer.

Now I keep hundreds of juvs but as u said, it takes years for them to grow as big as the one currently in my pond
