My Midas/RD (and growth rate Q)

I got my creamsicle Midas/RD from Petsmart. I really like how he/she is turning out and I really hope it's a male. I'm looking for a future monster to be in my 100g.

Does growth rate vary between males and females? I've heard that males tend to grow faster and mine is gaining a steady 1" every month. Great personality on this little one! (right now a little over 4" long). The only vent shot I could get is the 2nd one. He/she is so fast...

if yours is black its peeling, this guys is past that stage. Doesn't look like it will be doing any more peeling.

btw nice fish Natalie. Can't tell if its a midas or devil because the shape is a bit off for both, probably just the angle of the pictures though. If I had to guess I'd say female midas. Love the color on it though.

Thats a female, and nice color on her. I just got one that looks just like her but the markings are more red. They tend to have a growth spurt when they are small, then she'll grow at a slower pace.

Yeah, she was listed as a RD at Petsmart, but I know she's a mix. IMO she has more of a devil face, especially the lips. She's always fat because she's a little pig. I appreciate the opinions-- I'm still hoping male but the vent makes me think female.
