Very interesting how his colors get very light when matched against light sand. Mine was in grey gravel and he was the same color. Against black sand their colors show up much brighter.

I've personally owned him for about a year, bought him from someone else a year back.

I actually thought about that exact thing. This is his first couple weeks in this tank, I just moved him from a tank with darker gravel and his colors were much more brighter.
