I know, hardly anyone keeps goldfish around here it seems, but I thought I would show today's pic of one of my monsters. This is Spot (AKA Spoticus when he's being silly); he is 4 years old, and this picture is the best way I can think of to help newbies understand that goldfish don't belong in bowls!

That's exactly why I bought him when he was a baby :)

This is his tank with the others - Spot is in the far left corner, near him is Lisa my 9 yr old fantail, and on the right is Bart my 4 yr old ribbontail; G, my female bristlenose pleco is hiding around the driftwood as usual

It's an 80g running an Eheim Pro 3e 2078, Jager submersible heater, 3 bubble stones & one bubble disc (they are bubble freaks)
 
Nice! Being such messy fish how often do you do water changes? Gf wants to get some and I got a spare tank lying around so was thinking of setting up a goldfish tank lol.

I do a 50% WC weekly, and keep it barebottom since they forage so much that I used to have tweezers on the top of the tank to pluck rocks out of their mouths.
