Wow 530$ for a 120?? Man that expensive also the fx5 is awesome but all the lab seris crap is worthless imo. I paid 240$ for my fx5 on ebay w/ polishing pads and carbon (which i dont use) but the bio max is good stuff. U could try selling all the lab seris extras on ebay and make some cash back, sweet setup definatly top notch! I would have went w/ an ac110 on top of ur fx5 and only use 1 powerhead, that way you can alternate filter maintanence and always have a backup!

Welcome to the big leagues my friend and enjoy your tank!!

Also make sure you cycle before u add a bunch of fish or down the road ur ammonia will kill everything. U could buy stability and 12 rosys and cycle it that way, in a week or 2 u should be good, when u read 0 nitrites and 0 ammonia and u have nitrates that means ur good to go!!! If you have any bio media/filter material or gravel thats already seeded throw it in and that will speed up the process 10x! I suggest api master test kit!!

Goodluck and picks asap!

Yea believe it or not, that was the cheapest price around for a 120 gallon tall tank. And yea I know the lab series is not good but it all came as a kit so I am gonna try selling it on eBay.

And yes I know I have to cycle it. I am going to do a fishless cycle. I added some food to the tank yesterday to get some ammonia. Thanks for the ideas. I have the API freshwater test kit and love it :)

Thanks and I will take some as soon as the tank clears. I rinsed all the gravel but apparently it wasnt enough because the tank has been very cloudy for about 24 hours...

I installed the FX5 this morning and so far so good.

I added a black background to the tank which hides the black intake, output, and heater nicely. The tank is still cloudy and looks about the same as the last pic...I moved an AquaClear 110 to the 120 gallon tank. The AC110 was on my established 55 gallon tank. How much longer do I have to let the tank cycle for? And is there anything else I should do? When can I start adding fish? How long should I leave the AC110 on the 120 gallon tank? Thanks in advance
