so cali
just got it done just need it to dry and im ready to go here you go guys what you think of this diy one hehehe

its for my two of my tank on top is 60 gallon and the boltom is 100 gallon so for 160 gallon

Not bad.
Quick thing...how much room do you have for your biomedia? Do you have enough room for your drip plate and pre-filter media (blue bond or micro pads?).

i have 6 gallon of bio ball hope its enough,14"x11" 1/2 of bio balls, drip plate will fit and pre-filter media
is micro pad

You're all set then. :)

Only thing about using only micropads...they clog up quite fast.

I use the blue bonded pads as the first mechanical and then in another tray the micropads and various mesh bags of crushed coral/chemipure bags.

Good luck and now get that filter cranking! :D

before you do this .

this is what you need to buy first 20 gallon tank without the lid top new or use one is fine

two is two peace of glass from your loc hardware store or at lows the is
one is going be 11" 3/4 wide by 14"3/1 high

two is going be 11"3/4 wide by 6" tall

three is coking gun for the silicone glue from loc pets store or hardware store i use a brand called GE 10.1 oz. Clear Silicone II Window & Door Sealant

four is to mark the fish tank so you can glue the first peace of glass at i did mine at 11" one side of the fish tank and the other peace of glass you going have to glue it 2 " apart from the first one so you can use micro pads.

five you have to make a drip tray 11"3/4 by 13"3/4 plaxie glass drill whole one ince apart .

six is to to make plate to hold the bio ball up you need some egg crate at the hardware store it us to be only 6 buck for them but the price went up to 12 buck for them now

seven is cut some peace of plaxie glass out 3/4 thick 1" 1/4 w by h 1" to put the plate to hold the bio ball on to ps you need to glue it 6 " from the bottom of the fish tank

eight is to make a lids for the sump out of plaxie glass its L is 32" 1/2 by 11" 1/2
nine is to pick a good pump to use and a overflow box

good luck on this diy sump i just made like 10 of them already

this is only for a 20 gallon sump
this can handle up to 200 gallon setup

have fun heheheheh i know i did
