I recently got this 55 gallon and stand here is the long road of setting it up
Well you gotta start somewhere..

The stand setup (More difficult than any ikea product i have put together

The gravel after a three day soak and rinse (I like how it came out)

Setup ... Mostly...

Then tragedy struck as the filter that came with the aquarium sprung a drip leak from the energizer right above the power strip (Lesson learned) Thank god I put a drip leg on the cord

Got a background setup and petsmart gladly handed me another brandnew topfin 60 filter . My ornaments also finished their 2 day soak and were put in the tank

I then installed the aquatech 5-15 filter from the 15 gallon aquarium as it was nitrogen cycled already this will help cycle my 55 gallon much faster (the 15 gallon now has a bigger better filter ) I also added three giant danio's previously living in the 15 gallon these would help cycle it as well.
PS the Cat in these photo's is a sphinx cat and he's a camera whore :)

I like how it came out I can't wait for it to cycle and then I can add some cool fish

Hope you all enjoy:)

very nice.. you set it up great.. lets see more pics when you have it cycled..

Looking good. I love setting up new ones. The HOB that you have running I have also come across with an aquarium I bought off someone. I thought it sucked and replaced it pronto. Sorry about that leak but it wasn't a good one anyway. Nice start on a new tank. Again.. I love setting up new ones.
