Okie guys iv got my monster 75G... ok its not a monster compared to what every1 else has but im cuming up from a 30G so its over double whan im used to

This 1ns 5.6ft long, 24" tall and 12" wide (it sits above my bed)
Did some beefing up on the shelf.. it held the 120L no problem yes shelf lol its attached to the wall and the unit with LOTS of angle supports now with beams aswell

now a question about the lid... im having a rimless open top a i have arcadia hanging lights... whats the best way to do it
obs a sheet of acrylic will do it but shall i do
1 long sheet or
2 half sized

and as u can see the supports shall i go over them to have a raised lid or
fit in them to have a flush 1 but having the sides open 7cm wide and 30cm long

These frameless glass tanks scared me! Nice looking tank but I probably would not want dimension like that. 12" wide would make the tank less efficient and you cannot keep fish bigger than 12" since they cannot turn. Can you trade it back for a standard 75g with Dimension 48"x12"?

Just make sure the tank is well balanced from the from left to right when you fill it up with water. If you want to use acrylic to make lids you would need to get 1/2" acryic or else it would flex. Meansure the top and have a glass shop cut it in the dimension you want.

i agree, it awefully skinny. sorry dude, im not trying to rain on your parade, or bring you down, but as fishgonewild stated, your fish dont have much room to turn around. it is a nice looking tank however, i personally would use a one piece top if you have hanging lights, the more room you have to stick your arms in the tank, the better. hope i did'nt discourage you with your new tank. you have the right idea, bigger IS better! good luck to ya!

hey iv noticed the negativity to my 12" wideness... i would like to say the tank sits above my bed on the cupboard unit well between it il get a pic of it soon... and thats only got a 12" shelf and rents arent ging to let me extend it, last tank was 4ft by 10" wide 18" tall so im used to having a narrow tank it is not a drawback i agree i can only have 12" fish but they r gunn have a nice long strech to swim along the 5.5ft

also another question.... water circulation... iv got this drilled for pipes so intane and outtake are on same side top and bottom.... im running a fx5 so will i need an extra powerhead on the other side to help keep the water mioving?... good place to put a co2 diffuser is what im thinking?

Avi, we're not trying to put you down on the tank selection. I was just suggesting to get 48"x18" if you have that option. Just wanted to inform you that tank width is just as important as tank length. As long you as you know and not put an arrowana or some large monster fish in there that will be exceeding 12" as adult. It's great that the tank has 5.5 feet for the fish to dart from one end to the other but fish need enough room to turn. Long term effect is that the fish can be stunted or have a messed up spine. Tank like that would be great for 12" fish or smaller such as tetras, discus, angels, or silver dollars.

A fx5 is a great filter and it would never hurt to add a power filter to circulate your water. This will also improve your water filtration system. If you have enough surface agitation then co2 diffuser is not neccessary.

actually if it 12" the fish will need to be less then that, also the ID on the tank will be less then 12"....

I would just do a big community tank with that 75gal, instead of some preds or what ever...

could do a cool community, maybe one nice severum, with some smaller apistos, rams, corys and tetras
or do an african pred tank and do african butterflyfish, leopard cnetopa and congo tetras

You may want to consider putting those speakers some where else. The acustic vibration will cause them unecessary stress if they're attached so closely.

You're obviously into the aesthetics of your tank and it's placement...that's a good thing. Just make a wise choice when picking your fish...my advice is don't get anything that will grow over 10 inches. Congrats on your 75gallon head board.
