My new 8" Red Tail Cat....Gills are flared.

Hi!

I just picked up an 8" Redtail catfish from a friend about 15 minutes ago. I noticed that it's gills are a little flared on the edges.

I was wondering if it can recover from that? Thanks.

you might want to consider cutting the the gills before it curls start curling in to the gill plate. If it was just the soft section of the gills, it would of healed with clean water. But what i see, cutting it would be the best bet.
