I just got a long tentacled anemone and light setup for it, at first my smaller clown (~1.5in) dove right in and hardly leaves it, while my larger clown(~2.5in) hung back for a couple days. The larger one has now taken to it but they clowns are acting differently towards each other. The larger chases the other one around alot and they appear to fight, then the smaller one will swim directly vertical and start shaking its body sideways at the bigger one. Its hard to explain i guess but dose anyone know what this behavior mean (males or females?) the smaller one is much lighter shade of an orange than the larger.

This would be easier if i named them, but with my past luck they would die within a week if did :D

Look up Clownfish Mating Behavior, the anemone will likely be the spot where the big clown lays the eggs as the odds are the larger of the two is the female.

I am led to believe the base of the anemone is where you will find eggs, not inside the "mouth" where the tentacles are.

My clownfish do that all the time, its just mating behavior, they're spawning. Nothing to worry aboot.
