Nice fish, wish I could get one but I don't have room for a 6' fish. I'll stick with my Florida gar.

hes in a 30g right now growin then when he gets a little bigger to the 80g then 250g so on an so forth till he gets big enough for the pond i was thinkin id have him the pond in about a year an a half to two depends on how quick he grows hes only bout 5 maybe 6 inches at the right now

what do you do with the gar in the winter after he grows out? does it stay in the pond all winter?

Not necessarily... Depending on the water status and feeding level he could run through a few tanks for a while.
I mean I've had my boy for 2 years now and he's still in a tank... however he's been though about 5-6 so far but his growth rate has slowed down allot, where I think I can keep him like this for another year maybe 2. Then to the indoor pond, then the natural pool where I can swim with him.
