my new baby gibbiceps

I just purchased a small gibbiceps pleco at my lfs for 11$. cute little guy, about 3 inches and tough...anything special I shoudl know about them? i've only kept common plecos until now. please post pics of adults if anyone has them, thanks

they require similar if not exactly the same care as the commons. veggies prefered and enjoy prawns too and such like when they get get close to adults.

ditto to the above. one thing I noticed was that the gibbiceps I used to have was a lot more territorial than any other pleco I've kept. not to say they're all going to be like that but just something I thought I'd mention.

thanks for the advice....right now it seems really shy, hanging out under the rocks until the lights go out. Do they eventually become comfortable enough to be out during the day like my common does?

Mine that I used to have when he got about 5in became really active and was out all of the time. I too have also found them to be more territorial them the commons. Mine acutually killed my royal pleco.

wow, that's too bad....royals are beautiful...almost bought one but it was a little pricier than i had in mind
