my new barracudas // bad way to start the day..

i just bought some barracudas, not sure exactly which kind besides hujetas?, but anyways i bought two together on saturday, unfortunately one died. im guessing it was killed by another fish tank member. i heard some splashing last night when i turned off the lights and then i turned it back on and everything seemmed to be fine. but when i woke up this morning one barracuda was floating...

tank members included 2 archers, 1 bichir, and 2 clown loaches. they all seemed to be fine together.. but then i guess not.

Those guys are more commonly referred to as pike characins rather than barracuda (they're not aces). That's looks to me like Boulengerella lateristriga. Sorry about the other one dying. How big are the archers? I've hear they can be quite aggressive towards other surface dwellers so one of them may have been the culprit.

if ur talking about the hujeta gars then they were probably pretty small and ive had a ornate bichir come up to the surface and rip out the belly on one of those upside down butterfly fish.

Sorry for the loss. I have a terrible track record with those species of "gar"
