My new bichirs!

Hey guys!
This is my first post on the site, although, I have been sneaking around on here for several months. This place is full of great information and I love the enthusiasm everyone has for these amazing fish. I am fairly new to Poypterus and thought I would share how my little ones are doing so far.


This is my 6" Senegal I have been growing out for a few months.



These are my new Albino Senegal and Palmas Palmas, they just came in yesterday and are exploring their new home after being acclimated. I cannot wait to see them grow up!



I also wanted to say thank you to all the Polypterus veterans on these forums. The information I have found while doing research on these amazing fish has been great! So thank you all and I look forward to being a part of this great community!

the one in the top picture and the albino are Senegals, the one in the picture on the right in bottom photo is the palmas, you cant see it do to crappy camera but he is a blueish green color, not a gray like my senegal.

No the one to the right of the albino sen is a senegalus. Go to google images and search baby senegalus there will be pics just like it a palmas palmas look the one in my picture

and yes the one in question is a juvenile sen.
i hope u didnt get duped into paying more for it

It was only $7 so I do not feel that bad about it. I enjoy the fish regardless of species, but was really looking forward to a Palmas Palmas since it was what I specifically ordered. I am taking it up with the distributor directly since it was an error on their end to see if they can do for me. Label even said Palmas =\


Thank you for the welcome to the forums and world of Bichirs. Any recommendations on distributors that will send the right fish that I might be able to convince my LFS to put in an order to? I think they like me enough to make a special order from somewhere on my behalf.

segrest farms usually is pretty good for me. And you can yourself order from jurassic aquatics they are amazing at what they do and will answer any questions
