Believe it or not ...I thought I was loosing the female during this photo. ..she is knocked out in the photo. I had no idea what was happening. I just got them around 5 hours ago. They were at the lfs for 5 days when I bought them as a pair and the day after they laid eggs. The eggs didn't make it due to all the trafic of the lfs.The big pic is of the male small is female. She is o.k. now by the way. I felt sooo bad for them because the male was seeming sad and was very concerned.

Lovely pair!
Congrats.

One good thing...the female is alive today and doing well.:) Honestly, I've been a fishkeeper for 33years now and have never seen a fish knock it self out. I really thought she was going to die on me. She was flat on her side with stiff fins and then rolled on her forehead and stayed that way for a while with absolutly no movement from her pectorals. How long would you suggest before I attempt to feed them? They don't look hungry or should I say ready to eat yet. Thanks for any tips.

Hi there

I normally dont feed my fish for the first 24 hours. Also it is preety normal for them to refuse food for the first few days so dont panic and if they refuse to eat try some live bloodworm........always works for me.

Cheers
