Saw at local store....12" or so and so nice looking. Fat. First one I have ever seen in person. Like cuddling with my Keiberi under the driftwood. New tank. Colors and pattern are way brighter out of the shadows.IMG_1231.JPG python eel 1.jpg IMG_1228.JPGeel 2.jpg

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did that beauty run ya?

I may just have to do some research on them, he’s really nice.

So little known about this species!! I was successful in feeding today!! It took a nice fat crawler. Seems like an ambush predator. Buries all but his tail and the tip of its nose in sand. Used tongs to place the worm and down it went!! This pic shows it half buried....IMG_1248.JPG eel in sand.jpg

Almost no research out there.....no one really know how big they get ot how they breed.....fairly new and pretty rare in the hobby. Probably the rarest fish I have ever had......not endangered or on any lists but not imported very often.

My mastacembelus cf. circumcinctus is feeding whenever I offer live earthworms. Three at a time every day...same family as Fire eels. I wonder how big they actually get. I see 18"+ online. Mine is 12" and fattening up.
