I hope get these guys looking truly awesome soon, let me know what you think :) apologise for the dirty glass inside and out.

And before anyone says the u4 in the back is just a spare i had laying around they also have a fluval 405 filtering their tank with 40% w/c every other day is the plan until i move them in a couple of weeks.

Very nice, By far my favorite Channa. Keep an eye on them for signs of fungal infection the species is prone to sudden and rapidly progressing infections when first purchased, if they were purchased locally then you'll have better luck but the combo of shipping & new home seem to trigger it.

I hope you don't run into it, but if you see any signs of it treatment must be given right away, I've seen them go from looking like yours to dead in under 48 hours so I recommend you keep a very close eye on them for the first week, that's the first hump with this species, after that they are incredibly tough fish. Biggest threat once they have settled in is each-other lol

Hopefully it's not something that you run into , it's unpleasant and very rarely ends well. Watch for escapes as well ! these guys are NOT afraid to "go for a walk" my first pair taught me that lesson, i thought i had the tank completely sealed as i knew other Channa i had kept were escape artists.

The auranti ended up swimming up the "waterfall" into my HOB filter, popped off the lid and escaped the tank, found them the next morning under a dresser, no ill effects in fact when i went to pick them up they still had plenty of energy and took off surprisingly fast slithering like a snake and managed to get under another piece of furniture before I caught them .

all holes and seal and taped up not that there was many, i'm just being over cautious. these guys aren't afraid to jump and they seem a lot better at it then my old emperor I used to have just did a water change and they did their best on several occasions to jump out haha

Oh ya excellent jumpers, I just to get them to jump to take food from my hand.

The ones i trained to do that were probably 14" when i stopped, they could come a a good foot on top of the body length out of the water and take shrimp from my fingers. The novelty wore off when they started jumping at anything they could any time the tank was open lol. One almost got me in the face felt her teeth scratch my nose, from that point on i stopped with the jumping tricks ha ha ha
