my new cichlid (unknown name)

today i purchased what the local fish called a striped talapia. has anyone heard this common name before? hes yellow with black stripes and about 2-3 inch.....i will have pics up as soon as i can get my computer to upload them......thanks

I'd guess Tilapia buttikoferi, also called the zebra or bumblebee tilapia

yah, you have a beast in training...mine got to 16 inches and killed my male 12 inch dovii. lilfats2 , how does yours get on with your xingu pike?
