MY NEW CONVICT PAIR HAVE

consumated the union and i see eggs this evening. now i sit back and wait to see the fry. of course they laid the eggs in the back where i can barely see them. we can see 30 eggs but going down the back are more we cant see.3 days and they hatch right

yeah 3 days and they should be hatched. If this is your first time.. Don't mess with them or the parents. Leave them alone (kids always ask on this forum.) The only advice I have is to make sure you have something to feed them when they are free swimming (they will eat crushed flake fine but you can try brine if you really want, I wouldn't bother) and to make sure your temperature is at about 80* if you want a more successful hatch rate. The warmer I keep my convict tanks the more babies I end up with.

i ve got some crushed flake and shrimp pellet dust is that ok as well. im excited to make this work. thanks.

they will eat just about anything that fits in their mouth. They are easy to see once they are fed. Their bellies color up the same color as their food.
