My new Dat has pink spots on him. Bad?

After reviewing the pictures and taking a closer look at him I am noticing some pink patches on his body. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

I'm pretty sure its not normal..and he is not getting picked on.

Should I be worried?

If your looking at the area below the eye to the right in the last pic. Its a sore/bacterial infection....I would use salt,pimafix and make sure you do water changes every week. I had the same thing happen to some of mine and got it to go away. GL

2x or it was fed with red mealworms since my friend's datnoid had some pinkish/red near its fin and mouth too from eating red mealworms-happens to arowanas too. But in your case I would have to agree with FunWow.

I usually think ammonia burns when it comes to stuff like that. Seeing he is new he might of had some ammonia in his last tank.

Could have been.. He was kept in pretty bad conditions.

Sounds like it then. Probably was just enough to irratate him, best remedy for it is clean water which is why it's already gone.
